Sinotrans Shenzhen "Bay Area Code" train takes the lead in launching a new mode of export cargo rail public multimodal transport business
On October 16, 2024, under the guidance of the Shenzhen Municipal Transportation Bureau, the Shenzhen "Bay Area Code" train, led by China COSCO Shipping, launched its first rail public intermodal export train, pioneering a new mode of export cargo rail public multimodal transport business nationwide and opening up a new path for enterprises in the Greater Bay Area to reduce costs and increase efficiency in exports.
In order to meet the requirements of modern logistics development and create a new product of multimodal international logistics, China Railway Group and the General Administration of Customs recently jointly launched a pilot project for the export cargo rail public multimodal transport business model. Sinotrans fully leverages its advantages in operating the "Shenzhen Kashgar" railway train, fully participating in customs clearance data testing and organizing the source of goods for the first rail public intermodal export train.
The goods transported by this train will be transported by railway to Kashgar North Station, and then loaded onto cross-border trucks to exit through the Irkeshtam Port, passing through Kyrgyzstan, and finally arriving in Uzbekistan.
In the railway public multimodal transport mode, after the goods are transported by railway to Kashgar North Station, there is no need to transport them by car to the highway supervision site and then transfer them to the surrounding highway ports for exit, which can save 2-3 days of transit time; At the same time, based on the full process information supervision of customs, export enterprises in Shenzhen can handle customs declaration and goods inspection procedures in one go, declare the entire domestic logistics information in one go, and improve customs clearance efficiency by more than 30%; In addition, it can also meet the full logistics needs of enterprises to sell products to Central Asia through international multimodal transport, effectively reducing logistics costs.
The implementation of the new mode of railway and public multimodal transport business will effectively accelerate the integration of Guangdong and Xinjiang into the new development pattern of domestic and international dual circulation, promote industrial linkage between the two regions, and efficiently connect resources between the two regions.
Next, Sinotrans will deepen cooperation with Guangzhou Railway Group, China Railway Container Company, Shenzhen International Holdings and other units to organize the export of rail public and rail sea intermodal transportation, help form unified multimodal transportation standards and rules, and provide better and more convenient services for foreign trade enterprises in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
