Beidou Navigation Satellite, successfully launched!

The reporter learned from China Aerospace Science and Technology Group that at 11:26 on December 26th, the Long March 3B/Yuanzheng 1 carrier rocket ignited and took off from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China, successfully sending the 57th and 58th Beidou navigation satellites into the designated orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success.

The two Beidou satellites launched this time were developed by the Fifth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group and are backup satellites for the Beidou-3 project. After the satellite enters orbit and completes in orbit testing, it will be connected to the Beidou satellite navigation system. The backup satellite will further reduce the operational risks of the Beidou-3 system and ensure the continuous and stable operation of various services in the system.

The Long March-3B/Yuanzheng-1 carrier rockets for this launch mission were developed by the First Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group. The Long March 3B rocket belongs to the "Gold Medal Rocket" Long March 3A series, and adopts the unified configuration design concept of the Long March 3A series rocket. The upper stage of Expedition One is a conventional propellant orbital transfer carrier specially developed for launching China's new generation BeiDou navigation satellite.

It is understood that the Long March 3A series carrier rocket is known as the "Beidou Special Train". Since the launch of China's first BeiDou navigation test satellite in 2000, this series of rockets has escorted 62 BeiDou navigation satellites into orbit, with a success rate of 100%.

This mission is the 504th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
